The Bodø region is now eagerly looking forward to the establishment of Bodø International School with great enthusiasm and optimism. With approval from the Directorate of Education in Norway at the end of 2023 to offer international primary- and secondary education for up to 220 students, as well as support from both the Bodø municipality and businesses in the region, the foundation has been laid for the long-awaited start of Bodø International School.
We have an ambitious goal to commence operations as early as autumn 2025, and with the necessary approvals in place and strategic work ahead, we see things beginning to fall into place. Of course, there are still some critical milestones we must achieve, but we have strong support from stakeholders around us, so we are confident we will succeed, especially as we now bring a dedicated principal/headmaster on board," says acting CEO Kristin Haugen.
The founders of Bodø International School, Bodø Region Development Company (BRUS), and Bodø Business Forum, have worked diligently to realize this project, and now they see their efforts starting to bear fruit. Moving forward, the focus will be on finding a skilled principal/headmaster, securing suitable premises and school buildings, and establishing necessary funding. It's a hectic but rewarding time for all involved.
An international school offering in Bodø will further put us on the map and make us relevant both for international families outside Norway and for already established Bodø families with international ambitions.
