Admission policy and process

Bodø International School are opening our doors in August 2025 as an IB Candidate School, offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for Years 1–6. We look forward to welcoming a small and vibrant group of students to our international school, where we will foster a love of learning through a practical, varied, and exploratory approach to teaching.

We have a flexible, rolling admissions policy and welcome applications for students from ages 6-11, year-round.       

Admission Policy

Applications received before December 1st. the year prior to the student starts school will be managed in the first intake, by the following prioritised admissions criteria:

  1. Children of BOINT staff and board members

  2. Siblings of BOINT students

  3. Students who are not Norwegian nationals, and who are not residing in Norway at 01.12 the year prior the student is planning to start at BOINT

  4. The date the application was received


Applications received after the first intake will be prioritised by application date. We accept applications throughout the year. If there is disagreement regarding admissions the parents have the right to appeal, ultimately to the County Governor (Statsforvalteren) in accordance with The Education Act § 15.2.

Application Process

  1. Parents/guardians complete and submit the application form

  2. We invites parents/guardians to a meeting where we present the IB PYP and gain insight into the expectations of the school.

  3. The school evaluates the application and issues an individual decision (enkeltvedtak) along with a contract if a place is offered. Parents/guardians have a maximum of 14 days to respond.
