Midle Year Program (MYP)
Coming!
The program consists of eight subject groups integrated through five areas of interaction that provide a framework for learning within and across the subjects.
Students are required to study in English and Norwegian, a third language (we will come back to this), humanities, sciences, mathematics, arts, physical education and technology.
In the final year of the program, students also engage in a personal project, which allows them to demonstrate the understanding and skills they have developed throughout the years, from 8th grade to 10th grade.
What the MYP offers students
The MYP aims to develop active learners and internationally minded young people who can empathize with others and pursue lives of purpose and meaning.
The programme empowers students to inquire into a wide range of issues and ideas of significance locally, nationally and globally. The result is young people who are creative, critical and reflective thinkers.

You will develop the skills to identify and express number patterns, utilise calculation and estimation skills. You will learn about the important concept of Algebra for problem solving and understand how it uses symbols and letters to represent numbers, quantities and operations. You will study shapes and spaces in 2D and 3D and develop skills for measuring and manipulating objects using geometry and trigonometry. You will gain an understanding of data handling and learn how to collate, interpret and represent data in a meaningful way. In addition to this, you will also learn about probability and how to calculate ‘chance’.
-
Physical education
You will develop fundamental movement skills such as locomotion, manipulation, and stability. You will also learn about healthy living, including growth and development, personal safety, and injury prevention. Active participation is another key area, encompassing physical activity, fitness, living skills, and safety. Personal project
Our school aims to equip students with the knowledge, attitudes, and skills needed to actively and responsibly engage in a changing world. The Personal Project is a culmination of their MYP learning, allowing students to pursue their passions and create meaningful work, such as writing music, building a minibike, or conducting a science experiment. The project consists of three parts: the Product, the Process Journal, and the Write-up, which details the project’s goals, its connection to the Global Context, and the steps taken to complete it. Students receive extensive support and guidance from a personal project supervisor throughout the process.
